1 · Browser extension (required)

The extension is everything you need for Jams. It runs on desktop Chromium browsers: Chrome, Edge and Brave.

1. Download the latest soundalong-extension.zip from GitHub releases and unpack it.(A Chrome Web Store listing is planned; until then the extension installs in developer mode.)
2. Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode (top right).
3. Click Load unpacked and select the unpacked folder.
4. Open soundcloud.com and play a track. The Jam button appears in the player bar.

2 · Discord Presence companion (optional)

Only needed if you want your Discord status to show what you are listening to (“Listening to SoundAlong” with title, artist, artwork and a Join the Jam button while you host). Jams work without it.

1. Download soundalong-companion.zip from GitHub releases and unpack it.
2. Run install.ps1 (right-click → Run with PowerShell). It installs per-user (no admin prompt) and registers the companion for Chrome, Edge and Brave.
3. Restart your browser.
4. Open the SoundAlong popup (puzzle-piece icon → SoundAlong) and switch on Discord Presence. The popup shows the companion status.

The companion talks only to your browser (via Chrome native messaging) and to your local Discord app. It makes no network connections of its own.

Joining a Jam

Got an invite link? Just open it and this site hands the room to the extension. If the extension is missing, the invite page brings you back here first.
